Winter in the Loire Valley

This morning I walked one hour and a half through the woods in a snow storm with a lot of wind to go to the Valencay railway station and catch the train to Paris , via Salbris . I could have asked someone to give me a ride to the town , but actually I like these walks across the woods . The morning was sunny but as the time to leave was nearing , the sky turned dark , and first came this drizzle-snow , then real snow ...I stopped several times in the forest to get the snow off my cap , backpack and DSC bag . It was beautiful and you could literally hear the snow hit the trees and the ground . I saw a deer . It came straight in the middle of the way , but was looking the other way to listen to some thing far away . I stopped and waited . Then it looked my way , saw me , jumped and raced in the woods . I am considering doing a weblog that will show the life and colors of the Loire Valley , with the Cher Valley particularly . This is a very diverse country , with magnificient Chateaux , villages , landscapes , forests , good food , good wine as my wine journal will tell you. A lot of material there ...

Bon Anniversaire !

This was recently hyeonsuk's birthday . Great party ... different people , from Korea , Japan , the US , France ... There were several koreans having been years in the Legion Etrangere ... Hyeonsuk and her friends prepared wonderful korean food . I'm beginning to think Seoul could be definitely a good photo work subject ...

The next batch will include Japan with first impressions of a gaijin in the cities of Kyoto , Nara and Osaka ; Indonesia with Java and Bali (not just Denpasar and Ubud ) over there you can get lost on winding small roads on a motorcycle, you always reach the (black or white) sand of a deserted beach. In vietnam , with also a rented motorbike , you're instantly out of the crowd , and this place is also so friendly. This will be another collection of portraits and personnal approach of these places . I'm getting some order with my Tokyo work and you should enjoy plenty of portraits , Gothics and lolitas of course , but many other spapshots you only get when you have walked hundreds of kilometers ( not far from that ..) in the Metropolis . " City of the Cool : Tokyo" , soon on the photo pages ...The passworded page is for files not shared with the public , or pics sent from afar and that I have to work on . This weekend we are off for Jura ( eastern France ) where wine festivities take place : " la percee du vin jaune" . the " vin jaune " is one of different Jura wines , that even in France are not very well known . We have never seen that "percee du Vin Jaune "and it is said to be something . Even the grape varieties names sound strange : Poulsard , Trousseau , Savagnin ... I should share it with you on the wine page , how it looks like , or better say how it tastes ...
